MSI Z68 (G3) / *H61(G3) mainboards were designed to support 2nd Generation Intel 32nm. With a simple BIOS update, next-gen Intel 22nm processors can also be fully supported. By downloading the update software package from MSI’s official web site, MSI Z68 (G3) mainboards could receive the latest BIOS and driver upgrade (ME7 to ME8) for guaranteed next-gen support with no additional cost.

*MSI H61 (G3) mainboards will be updated with the latest ME8 BIOS from the factory with proper Intel 22nm CPU support.


The Intel 3rd Generation 22nm processors are fully compatible with MSI Z68 (G3) / H61 (G3) mainboards. 22nm CPU Ready MSI Z68 (G3) / H61 (G3) mainboards support Intel® Smart Connect Technology, Intel® Rapid Start Technology, 2400MHz DDR3 memory frequency, 1Intel® server-grade Xeon® series processors and 2UEFI PXE boot ready after updating to the ME8 BIOS and driver from MSI official web site. Please check the table below to get more information about your mainboard.

2 The Preboot eXecution Environment(PXE) is an environment to boot computers using a network interface to install OS. The UEFI PXE boot ready allows users to create over 2.2TB primary partition to install operating systems.
