MSI MGA kicks off StarCraft 2 category with Korean qualifier

In the original announcement of the MSI Masters Gaming Arena, the biggest competitive real-time strategy game StarCraft 2 is one of the two featured game titles that players will be able to compete in.

Last year, when the tournament was known as MSI Beat IT, Kang "Solar" Min Soo defeated Won "PartinG" Lee Sak in the grand final at Taipei and took the championship title coupled with $10,000. This year, in the rebranded MSI Master Gaming Arena, everyone will witness yet another glorious moment in esports history this time at Seattle, USA.

MSI Master Gaming Arena has 6 online qualifier tournaments to determine the 10 players that will join 6 invited players at the main event:

  • July 1-2: Korea qualifier, 2 winners
  • July 8-9: Europe (EU, Middle East, Africa) qualifier, 2 winners
  • July 15-16: Southeast Asia (SEA, Oceania) qualifier, 1 winner
  • July 22-23: Taiwa qualifier, 1 winner
  • July 27-28: Asia (China, Japan) qualifier, 2 winners
  • July 29-30: Americas qualifier, 2 winners
  • TBA: 6 invited players

Winners from each qualifier will fly to Seattle for the MSI Masters Gaming Arena grand final and will have their flights and hotels paid for.
